What to know about Solana and Bitcoin
Solana (SOL)
Solana (SOL) is a high-performance blockchain founded by Anatoly Yakovenko; its main network started in 2020. It is known for fast confirmations and very low fees.
Sending and receiving SOL
Solana addresses are base58 strings of 32–44 characters. Fees are a fraction of a cent. When you receive a new SPL token for the first time, a small SOL deposit is needed to open the token account, so keep a little SOL in the wallet.
Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. It was described in a 2008 white paper by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto and launched in January 2009. Bitcoin has no issuer or central operator: the rules are enforced by thousands of independent nodes, and the supply is capped at 21 million coins.
Risks and things to know
The price can move by tens of percent within weeks. Transactions are irreversible, so a mistyped address or wrong network means the funds are lost. Fees rise sharply during periods of high demand, which makes small transfers relatively expensive.
How to exchange Solana to Bitcoin
- Enter the SOL amount in the calculator (minimum 1.6983 SOL) and click “Go to exchange”.
- Enter your BTC wallet address on the Bitcoin network and your contact details.
- Send exactly the specified amount of SOL on the Solana network to the details shown in the order.
- Once the transfer is confirmed, Bitcoin is sent to your address. You can track the order on its status page.
What to check before exchanging SOL to BTC
- The recipient address must be on the Bitcoin network: funds sent on another network may be lost.
- The amount sent must be at least 1.6983 SOL.
- Copy the whole address and check the first and last characters after pasting.
- Funds go through an AML check; high-risk transfers may be held until the check is complete.
