What to know about Monero and Tether
Monero (XMR)
Monero (XMR) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency launched in April 2014 as a fork of Bytecoin, built on the CryptoNote protocol. It is developed by an open community without a company or pre-mine behind it.
Sending and receiving XMR
Main Monero addresses start with 4, subaddresses with 8; they are much longer than Bitcoin addresses. Received funds become spendable after 10 confirmations (about 20 minutes). Fees are low and do not depend on the amount.
Tether (USDT)
Tether (USDT) is the largest stablecoin: a token designed to stay at one US dollar. It was launched in 2014 by Tether Limited, which issues USDT against reserves that consist mostly of cash equivalents and short-term US Treasury bills.
Risks and things to know
A stablecoin depends on its issuer: Tether can freeze tokens on specific addresses at the request of authorities, and the peg relies on the reserves. Sending USDT to an address on a different network is one of the most common and costly mistakes.
Arbitrum One network
Arbitrum One is an Ethereum layer-2 network. Addresses use the Ethereum format, fees are paid in ETH and are much lower than on the Ethereum mainnet.

- The amount sent must be at least 0.62283 XMR.
- Copy the whole address and check the first and last characters after pasting.
- Funds go through an AML check; high-risk transfers may be held until the check is complete.
