What to know about Tether and Monero
Tether (USDT)
Tether (USDT) is the largest stablecoin: a token designed to stay at one US dollar. It was launched in 2014 by Tether Limited, which issues USDT against reserves that consist mostly of cash equivalents and short-term US Treasury bills.
Sending and receiving USDT
The key choice is the network. USDT on TRON is popular for its low fees and speed, ERC20 is supported almost everywhere but costs more in gas, while Solana, TON and BEP20 are cheap alternatives. The recipient address must belong to the same network you send on, and you need the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB…) to pay the fee from your own wallet.
Monero (XMR)
Monero (XMR) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency launched in April 2014 as a fork of Bytecoin, built on the CryptoNote protocol. It is developed by an open community without a company or pre-mine behind it.
How Monero works
Every transaction hides its details by default: ring signatures mix the real sender with decoys, stealth addresses create a one-time destination for each payment, and RingCT hides the amount. Mining uses the RandomX algorithm, designed for ordinary processors, with a new block about every 2 minutes. After the main emission ended, a small permanent reward of 0.6 XMR per block keeps miners paid.
BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) network
BEP20 is the token standard on BNB Smart Chain, an Ethereum-compatible network. Addresses look like Ethereum addresses, and fees are paid in BNB and are usually low.

What to check before exchanging USDT BEP20 to XMR
- The recipient address must be on the Monero network: funds sent on another network may be lost.
- The amount sent must be at least 200 USDT BEP20.
- Copy the whole address and check the first and last characters after pasting.
- Funds go through an AML check; high-risk transfers may be held until the check is complete.
