How Solana and TRON work
How Solana works
Solana combines Proof of Stake with Proof of History, a cryptographic clock that helps order transactions. Slots last about 400 milliseconds and transactions are processed in parallel. Tokens on Solana follow the SPL standard.
What Solana is used for
SOL pays network fees and is staked to secure the network. Solana hosts decentralized exchanges, payment apps, NFT marketplaces and many popular tokens.
How TRON works
TRON uses Delegated Proof of Stake: 27 Super Representatives elected by TRX holders produce a block every 3 seconds. Instead of paying fees directly, users can stake TRX to receive "bandwidth" and "energy" resources; without them, the network burns TRX to cover the fee.
What TRON is used for
TRX is used to pay for transactions and smart contracts on TRON — above all USDT TRC20 transfers — and for staking and voting.
