Price change: ARB vs POL
Both prices are set to 100 at the start of the period, so the chart shows which coin grew or fell more, not the prices themselves.

How Arbitrum and Polygon work
How Arbitrum works
Arbitrum One is an optimistic rollup: it executes transactions off the main Ethereum chain and posts compressed data back to it, which lowers fees while inheriting Ethereum's security. Gas on Arbitrum is paid in ETH, not ARB. The total supply is 10 billion ARB.
What Arbitrum is used for
ARB is used to vote in the ArbitrumDAO on upgrades and treasury spending, and is traded as a way to gain exposure to the network's growth.
How Polygon works
Polygon PoS is an Ethereum-compatible chain secured by validators who stake POL. It offers fast blocks and very low fees, and assets can be bridged between Polygon and Ethereum.
What Polygon is used for
POL pays gas on Polygon PoS and is staked by validators. Polygon hosts payment apps, games, DeFi protocols and tokenized assets.
