What to know about Cosmos and Tether
Cosmos (ATOM)
Cosmos (ATOM) is the coin of the Cosmos Hub, the first chain of the Cosmos ecosystem, launched in 2019. Cosmos is often called the "internet of blockchains".
Sending and receiving ATOM
Cosmos Hub addresses start with cosmos1. Exchanges usually require a Memo with deposits — without it the funds may not be credited.
Tether (USDT)
Tether (USDT) is the largest stablecoin: a token designed to stay at one US dollar. It was launched in 2014 by Tether Limited, which issues USDT against reserves that consist mostly of cash equivalents and short-term US Treasury bills.
How Tether works
USDT is not a blockchain of its own. The same dollar token is issued on many networks — TRON (TRC20), Ethereum (ERC20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), Solana, TON, Polygon, Arbitrum and others. Tokens on different networks are not interchangeable directly: they are moved between networks by exchanges and bridges.
Polygon network
Polygon PoS is an Ethereum-compatible network with addresses in the same 0x format. Fees are paid in POL and usually cost a fraction of a cent.
How to exchange Cosmos to Tether
- Enter the ATOM amount in the calculator (minimum 4,000 ATOM) and click “Go to exchange”.
- Enter your USDT wallet address on the Polygon network and your contact details.
- Send exactly the specified amount of ATOM on the Cosmos Hub network to the details shown in the order.
- Once the transfer is confirmed, Tether is sent to your address. You can track the order on its status page.
What to check before exchanging ATOM to USDT Polygon
- The recipient address must be on the Polygon network: funds sent on another network may be lost.
- The amount sent must be at least 4,000 ATOM.
- Copy the whole address and check the first and last characters after pasting.
- Funds go through an AML check; high-risk transfers may be held until the check is complete.
