What to know about Cardano and Ethereum Classic
Cardano (ADA)
Cardano (ADA) is a Proof of Stake blockchain launched in 2017 and led by Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum. The project is known for its research-driven, peer-reviewed approach to development.
Sending and receiving ADA
Cardano addresses start with addr1. Fees are low and predictable. A wallet may require a small minimum amount of ADA to accompany token transfers.
Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Ethereum Classic (ETC) is the original Ethereum chain that continued unchanged after the 2016 split, when most of the community moved to a new chain to reverse the DAO hack.
How Ethereum Classic works
ETC remains on Proof of Work (Etchash) and follows a fixed monetary policy: the block reward is reduced by 20% every 5 million blocks, which limits the total supply. It runs the same kind of smart contracts as Ethereum.
How to exchange Cardano to Ethereum Classic
- Enter the ADA amount in the calculator (minimum 22,000 ADA) and click “Go to exchange”.
- Enter your ETC wallet address on the Ethereum Classic network and your contact details.
- Send exactly the specified amount of ADA on the Cardano network to the details shown in the order.
- Once the transfer is confirmed, Ethereum Classic is sent to your address. You can track the order on its status page.
What to check before exchanging ADA to ETC
- The recipient address must be on the Ethereum Classic network: funds sent on another network may be lost.
- The amount sent must be at least 22,000 ADA.
- Copy the whole address and check the first and last characters after pasting.
- Funds go through an AML check; high-risk transfers may be held until the check is complete.
